Last time I looked at land, it was in SW Wisconsin. It sold for around 3,000-4,000/acre. Have seen it as low as 1,500 and as high as 6,000/acre.
All in all, it is a good investment. Their never going to make more land...so the price can only go up.

I boughtsomeland for around $1000 an acre. A close family friend was selling off 300acres of woods by his farm. I also bought some land from the people that are now my inlaws for $1600 an acre. It has land that runs right up to the Bay of Green Bay. I ended up marrying the guys grand-daughter, that may be the reason I got the good deal. Now I hunt all 190 of it instead of just the 20. Pretty good deal if I do say so.

buy , buy , buy,..... if you have money to do it, buy all you can.... guys up here buy heavily wooded areas.... sell logging rights with terms and have the loggers pay for the lot....

I've had great luck with these two sources for the NW Illinois area. Tell John that "Jim" sent ya' from the forum. I don't control prices but they both have what it takes to find ya a place.
