RE: Walker's Game Ear

I have two of them and find that they do a very good job for me. I have 40% hearing loos to overcome before I reap the benefits of them them, but for the hunting scene they do a much better job than my $4000 hearing aids. You need to consider one thing. Do not buy one. Buy two. You have two eyes so that your depth perception is OK. You have two ears so you can hear in stereo, If you only use one you'll have a heck of a time telling direction of noises. Some guys cry that they can't tell direction with them and that's the reason. There is nothing wrong with the instrument. Another thing to consider is that on windy days the microphones will pick up the wind noise if you are facing into the wind.
Are they really worth it. For me they are. For someone else maybe not. Before I couldn't hear turkeys that were within 15 yards of me. Now I can hear a squirrel fart at 50 yards.
Also consider getting the Game Ear II. They are frequency adjustable so can be adjusted to pick up the higher frequencies that rustling leaves make.
Hope this helps.

Cool! I have mild hearing loss too and was considering these. Glad to hear someone else likes them.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.
