I hunted in my father inlaws ground blind this year...thats not for me. Maybe it was his location. I prefer to be up high where I can see deer coming . Maybe nice to have a blind on the edge of a field or on top a point. Also would be nice in cold or rainy weather. I like my tree stands though.

I prefer a tree stand myself for most situations, but a ground blind has its moments. I was actually out scouting state forrest and National Wildlife Refuge yesterday, and found a spot of intersecting travel, right off of water and within a quarter mile of farm field that looked as if it had been traveled by 100 deer within the past 24 hrs. It looks like a very good spot for a blind, as there are only scraggly trees around and it offers some pretty god open shots.

I prefer treestands..unless the situation doesnt allow for one, then I am on the ground.
One thing I like about ground blinds...you can sleep in them overnight and not have to worry about spooking game on the walk in in the morning.
Just make sure you dont snore;)

I am treestands all the way even in gun season for two reasons.
1. Deer don't fly if your shot in your tree stand they call it murder.
2. My shots are always safe weather I miss or pass through my projsctile will always go into the ground.

it depends on what your hunting and where your hunting

RE: GROUND BLIND OR TREESTAND

When I started in the 60's I hunted from the ground. In the early 70's I moved to the trees and now I'm actually getting better shots at bigger deer from the ground again. I believe the deer are much wiser concerning tree stands but I actually believe it all boils down to more flexibility from the ground when the wind isn't right or something doesn't feel right.
