Pinch points and funnels

Greetings once again. Its pretty obvious that everyone says finding natural pinch points and funnels are great places to set up and hunt. My question is how can you identify them utilizing an aerial map. I guess basically what do they look like on an aerial photo?

A aerial photo is helpful but a topo map along with anaerial photo is even better.

Well......it's hard to say....There are so many of them you just have to learn how to recognize them. Funnels are pretty easy...a narrow strip of woods connecting 2 large wood lots.

Saddles are pretty easy to see on a topo....they look like an hourglass of sorts.

The best thing is to read Mapping TrophyBucks by Brad Herndon. This book teaches how to read topos.
