39 yd. reindeer but before that I prided myself on never taking anything at over 20 yds., the closer the better.

Sliced a triangle through a buck's heart at 43 yards once, but that's the exception and not the rule -- when it comes to distance... (the heart shot is more the rule... [8D])

My average shot distance for all the deer I've taken has probably been 17 yards or so.

I shot a small groundhog at 43 yards once ( compound). My longest whitetail kill was 32 yards.

I shot a pheasant at about 30 yards
all of my deer have been within 20 feet....over the years i've only lost one and thats because the coyotes beat me to her. Little punk varmint!
