#1 The cam and a half design is new for hoyt this year. It is similar to the darton cam from the past couple of years.
#2 Draw force curves- the spiral is designed slightly more radical, thus it is faster.
#3 The XT2000 limb is a proven limb design. I prefer the split limbs over the solids myself, but that is just one guys opinion. I`ll be the first to admit that your Mathews are about as good as bows get in this day and age.
#4 For a combination bow, I would definately go with the UltraTec. Longer axle to axle and bigger brace height make it better for 3-ds, IMO. If you were just going to use it for hunting, I would suggest looking at the RazorTec.
BTW, without pulling the new Hoyt specs out, I believe that the IBO rating is only 7fps slower on the UltraTec.

Hope this helps you out!

HOYT! HOYT! HOYT! HOYT! (ACDC) LOL

I've been looking at the new Hoyt's at this pro shop and I like the Havoctec because of it's short axle to axle length and it still has a long brace height. I do alot of ground hunting through brush and I like the feel of it. The Cam and a half design pulls real smooth too.

'Cause I'm TNT
HOYT! HOYT! HOYT!

The XT2000 limbs aren't quad limbs, split right down the center. The only "solid" limbs Hoyt has are for their camless bows. If I were you I'd get the Ultratec with XT2000 or XT 3000 limbs and Cam And 1/2. The spiral cam isn't adjustable. I guess Mathews aren't either. Good luck.

I too might put down my Mathews next year. I'm going to check out the new BowTechs. I'm looking for a little more performance.

HOYT! HOYT! HOYT! HOYT! LOL!

When I was looking at the Hoyt's at the pro shop, the owner had a MQ1 there that he had won in a raffle and was selling for $450.00 brand new. (stripped of course) But I drew it along side the Cybertec, Magnatec, and Havotec. I didn't like it as much as I did the Hoyts. All were set at 60 lbs pull and the Mathews seemed to pull harder. I mean not as smooth through the draw. It seemed to come to a peak and then let off. The hoyts just drew the same pressure through the draw and then let off. I don't know that much about the technical side of bows so I might be reading something in there that's not there, but in my opinion the hoyts were easier to draw. To me that means more praticing before my shoulder gives out.
