whitetailsoldier,

I am very very familiar with the awesome genetics of deer that are in and surrounding the Woodstock, Illinois area. I live not more than 30 minutes away. I realize that their are many people around you who probably shoot deer much smaller than you prefer to take. But this fact does not make you any greater or lesser of a deer hunter.

Think before you post such a thread. THEN STOP. Walk a mile in another mans shoes.. and see what matters to him. And perhaps... perhaps.. you'll learn something more about yourself.

Besides, everyone knows how easy it is to kill big deer in Illinois.
I know who you are and I actually hunt right across from the office.

But this fact does not make you any greater or lesser of a deer hunter.
I agree 100%. It is my belief that hunting is for food and sport. Food obvious. sport I understand this is where the oppinions vary.

Can I ask you what your qualifications for shooting a buck are?

Oh, by the way, this 100 inch and maturity thing. I killed my first buck ever with a bow this year (a 4 pt.). First deer I've killed in many years under 130. This 4 pt was 92 inches (he was a beast) and weighed 248 lbs. (after the rut). I also passed up several 8-10 pt. deer with my bow that would have gone 115-125. DEFINE MATURE NOW. Standards for taking game shouldn't be made on inches, lbs., or years but by enjoyment.

The reason I shot this deer was because it was my second buck of my life! I have hunted since I was 12 years old and have taken alot of does and only two bucks! Who in the hell are you to judge me you DELETED That particular buck showed me signs of not going to make it throught the winter and he was bigger than my previouse buck! I felt very proud of my deer since I hunted very hard all year long and wanted to take a much bigger deer that is on our land but couldn't because I felt it was a better idea to take a deer that I thought wasn't going to make it through the year! I think you my friend as a hunter need to step back and take a good look at yourself, then ask yourself if you really want to be the a**hole your coming off as!

Just a few.....If you have an excuse I'd like to hear it otherwise I've stated my point. If its one of your first bucks cool, If your young cool, If it was your first deer with a bow cool, If not why did you shoot?
