Axis, IMO, are one of the best table fare. They are being re-introduced in Asia from herds here in the USA. Seems the the folks there liked the meat so much that they eat the entire herd. If you have never hunted axis before, this is a must do! They will test your skills to the nth degree. Moreover, it sure wouldn't hurt any of us to "get out more". |

Congrats!!!Nice Axis!!! I wish that it was a fawn. It is your right to shoot a fawn if you wanted to as these guys don't pay your bills or buy your tags. Reminds me of the little elk some guy shot a while back and a bunch of busy bodies got on here and condemned him.
