RE: turkey
If your hunting turkeys with a bow and the bird is broadside then you should aim at the shoulders of the wings , it wouldn't hurt to clip the wing itself that way the bird cant fly off.
If the bird is facing you then aim just above the beard and below the neck and if the bird has his back facing you and not fanned out then aim at the center of it's back between the wings. If he has his back facing you and with his tail feathers fanned out then you should aim at his butt and give him a suppository he'll never forget :D Thevitals of the wild turkey are very small and hard to hit thats why I use a string tracher on my bow it's like a bowfishing rig , The string tracher or tracker if you want to call it that is just a spool of bright orange string that you tie one end to your arrow's shaft where the broadhead inserts in. When you shoot and the arrow goes thru the bird andso does the string and if the bird happens to fly off the string makes it easyer to track it down. This product can be bought at most archery shops and I'm sure Cabela's , Bass Pro Shops and even place's like Walley World will have them. I hope this information answers your question and good luck to you this coming turkey season :) |
