Which Rest Do YOu Guys and Gals Use?
 

Just wondering what rest you all use for hunting? I will be getting my new bow, and I still have not settled one one. I am not asking which one is the best, as I am sure you all feel you are using the best rest for you. I just would like to know what the majority of the hunters in here use.:D

I do not think I am going too far out on a limb here when I say that the Whisker Biscuit is probably the most utilized hunting rest today....at least from what I have seen posted on the forums and from down at the local shop and 3D shoots. I do not know if there would be a strong 2nd contender but the various drop away style rests now available also get alot of praise.

Myself? I never really got into either. I still utilize either a GKF Golden Premier or Infiniti rest on my bows.

Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter for me right now but I am thinking of giving the APA Twister a shot.

After doing some testing with blazer vanes , [I usealy use feathers] , I discovered that the only rest I was getting complete clearance with was a trophy ridge drop zone . The others tested were , muzzy , quad ,and limbdriver . Im back to feathers , a little contact is too much for me , when someone advertises a fallaway I belive I should get complete fletch clearence . I see alot of threads with pepole showing their setups and their vanes are all rippeled up , contact is the culprate , put some lipstick on your vanes and you will see where you are getting contact nomatter how slight .

I use the Whisker Biscuit. Get Duravanes or Blazers and you won't have any problems with the ripples.

Bodoodle Game Dropper.....but thinking of going to either a WB for hunting purposes or a drop away for league purposes.

Whisker biscuit. It is the best one for hunting - hands down. You can hang upside down from your treestand and your arrow stays put....

I use the QAD Ultra Rest and can claim the same thing.

I use a Cobra 2 prong style rest. I'm always looking at the trophy taker drop away..but still haven't convinced myself yet.

I have 2 brand new in the plastic Whisker Biscuits for Aluminum arrows..I guess I should probably get some pics and list them in the classifieds.

I went with a Ripcord this year and I noticed a lot less recoil/vibration when compared to a standard run of the mill cradle style rest.

I have theNap Quick Tune 360 on my bow , I think it's alot better than the Whisker Biscuit.
It holds the arrow in place and is very quite when drawing back and shooting.

Cavalier FreeFlyte Micro for fingers.

Shelf on my recurves and longbows.

I make my selfbows with no shelf, so my knuckle is my rest.

I still use this rest on all 4 of my bows. All shot with a release. For indoors I use the lizzard tongue, 3-d I used the post with a gouge in it for ACCs and for hunting I use carbon prongs that I modified to shoot big alumiums. At the time I considered this rest to be the best one. My question is....Is there a new and improved rest available that is better than this one for any of the 3 uses? If so what are their advantages?

Ripcord.....Easiest rest I have setup and tune. They also have great customer service.
