WHICH BROADHEADS?
Whatbrand of broadheads are your favorite for deer hunting?
Right now I am using Rocket Broadheads. |
RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
Rockets are mighty fine heads. Stick with 'em.

RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
I use muzzy 125 gr, served me well, I have strayed off a few times but always came back to muzzy.

RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
Since they came on the market in the 70s I have shot a 3 blade made by Rocky Mountain. I currently shoot the 3 blade 125gr. Ironhead. My brother, son, daughter & son-in-law all shoot various Rocky Mountain 3 blades also.
We have taken Black Bear, Elk, Caribou, Whitetail, Mule Deer, Wild Hogs, Buffalo & a few other Exotic Deer with these heads. Excellent, durable heads. |
RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
I've been using bear razorheads for 15+ years. Prior to that I used wasp, with ferrule and replaceable blades. I switched because the razorheads are resharpenable, and because they were cheaper. I began noticing right away that they (razorheads)are more effective. Prior to switching, I had lost a few deer that I thought were hit well. Since switching, I've only lost one that had body cavity penetration (a few grazing incidents that don't count). I've made about 15 kills with the razorheads, and several were on shots I considered marginal, but with surprisingly goodresults. Last year I hit 2 deer in the shoulder, clean kills on both.

RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
Used Muzzys and Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts this year.
Wont EVER use the Buzzcuts again. The Muzzys were nice. But, personally, I want to check out those Rage 2-blades, those things cut one hell of a channel through a deer. |
RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
Muzzys or Thunderheads. You can't go wrong with either of them.

RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
switched to crimson talons this year. they are absolutely devastating... huge hole... helps your chances on a marginal hit (not that I am advocating for that).
The only problems is that you can normally only use them once. |
RE: WHICH BROADHEADS?
If the blades were thicker on the Crimson Talons they might hold up a bit better but with the curve in them they might not.
I think about every broadhead on the market today will get the job done. It is all what works for you as far as accuracy. |
