Just because the guy has a stand on your property doesn;t nesacarily make him a poacher. There is a lot of difference between a poacher and a tresspasser. I know things back east are different than out west but I have 21 aceres and it corners the kootenai national forest with a treestand on each corner of my property overlooking cutdowns, I have never seen too many people up here but if I were to find someone in one of my stands I would just let him know that he is on private property and not shoot towards my kabin. If they were to ask, I may show them a better area. Theres no fences here and its understandable for one to be unsure of their actual location. I've done it before myself. Gather all the information before makeing an ansumption. If it actually bothers you than pull the stand and leave a note. I would not call him a poacher though.

it makes for good firewood after it dries out? Actually this guy is screwed! I stopped by his house and told him to come get his stand or will become mine. Should have seen the look on his face. He just muttered "OK". Then later ran into a buddy at the deli whose friend is a CO apparently they have been watching him and building a case! Jacking deer, ect.

Sure is a lot of difference. A trespasser hasn't killed anything yet.[8D] I guess you could say one's a better hunter.[8D]

I'd go with the camera. They work good for surveilence.

That looks like you GregH. Is it?

Davidmil is exactly right, the only difference is the trespasser hasn't killed anything yet, once done, he's a trespasser and a poacher regardless of the seasons, time, etc..etc...poaching is defined with trespassing.
