RE: Need some quick opinions about a bedded buck in my backyard

Ok, so the neighbor made my decision easier. She came home and scared it when she partked the car. It's ok, though. I feel good about my decisionnot to stalk it laying there.I do like seeing them like this and so does the wifeand kids. I do plan to still go out and sit in my ground blind hoping he comes back.

Here are a few quick screen grabs from today.

Here is the same back the week before Archery.

Thanks for all the quick thoughts guys.

I do a lot of hunting in suburbs and I'm sure you know that they will pay you no mind if you're 50 yards away and cutting the grass or raking the leaves, but as soon as you stop or step off the cut grass into their territory they are on high alert. Good luck if you go for it, and let us know how you do.
Same thing here. The landowner says they watch him mow the grass from close range with no worries, but let me take one step in the woods and they're off to the races!

If I was in your situation, I'd say go for it. It's not the same as opening a window and shooting, it would require you to do all the right things to actually get with-in range. If it fails, he'll probably hang around and be bigger next year!

Hi, I'm with GR8atta2d, shoot him in his yard, besides are you sure he's not gonna run into someone elses yard, one who may not be a hunter friendly, You made the right decision, got a couple of pictures, enjoyed watching him. now when you go hunting, you know his somewheres in the area.

He was closer to my neighbors house than he was to mine. I too worry about him running the wrong way and ending up in someone's back yard. At least where my stands are, the chances are much slimmer of ending in someones backyard.

Yeah, I love the old, fat face on this buck. He looked worn out. I've never actually seen a buck sleep like he did. Eyes closed, heading nodding up and down as he slept. It was pretty cool.

Man that is a nice buck. You never know, he might pass this evening if he regularly beds in the area

Ok take out a load of clothes in a basket like your going to hang them to dry. Hide the bow inside the basket, and dress like your wifewould in her bathrobe. Make sure to put on some of her perfume and makeup. Then go get him!!!

Or I would take Killers advice:)

Just because he's that close doesn't mean you'll be able to get in a stalk. I say go for it especially if its a good buck. You never know when you'll get a chance like that again.
my thoughts as well.
