New trail cam and hope for next year
 

My mom and wife went in and got my dad and I a trail cam for Christmas. It isn't the top of the line, but it is pretty neat and after some trial and error we finally got it working well. I sure hope this guy makes it to next year. Anyway, I am now hooked on these trail cams. I may have to get one or two more before next season. Plus, it gives me one more thing to do in the off season.

It is a Wildview 3.1 MP. Apparently my dad already went out and also bought a Cuddeback no-flash. He sent me another picture of another 8-point from 12/30 at our southern food plot. These things are awesome. He has been hunting hard and only seen one buck since November (a nice 7 point with a busted left antler)so we thought they were all dead. Now we still have hope... and entertainment to boot.

We never had any problem getting the Wildview to work, but the SD card didn't work, and then the SD reader we bought didn't work, but we finally got 2 working cards and a working reader so all we have to do is swap out the cards. The picture is a little grainy, but it is at night and the deer is probably 20'-25' away so I don't think that is too bad. You can still see in pretty good detail. The IR picture from the Cuddeback makes the deer all white so extreme detail is impossible to see. I would guess he was only 10' or so from that camera.

Yep, those trailcams are just one of the many reasons I lay awake bright eyed all night....even during the off season. Gotta love them

I got a cam camra and i love mine to. It took me a week to use it but i did get it working good and i love it now.
