new to bowhunting

just curious what would be considered an accurate stand height for bowhunting, so as to have a good enough shot without being seen or scented. while being safe at the same time.

People say about 15' is a good height for a tree stand.

Any thing above twenty feet is good for bowhunting , I've had stands at 20 , 24 , 28 and the highest I ever had one was 32 feet.

All depends on where you set up. If the trees are all tall with no lower branches and a high canopy, you'll need to go high 20' or more. Most of my stands are 12-15 since there are a lot of cedars and if you were up high you would'nt even see the gtound! Also I hunt in suburban Chicago right behind my home and nobody else does or ever did the deer literally do not look up! Any place with high pressure and the deer will be schooled to look up!

i dont see why people need stands in the 20 ft range.. i have stands ranging from 8 ft to 16 ft and people kill deer out of ground blinds all the time.. to me i dont see any point in goin over about 16 ft. just an oppinion though.

I like 16 to 20 feet depending on the cover, but I can't tell ya how many deer my wife has killed out of her 12 foot ladder stand, She makes sure she has good cover for it!!
