I AM GOING TO CO TO HUNT ELK WITH SOME PEOPLE THAT COME TO OUR FROM TO HUNT UPLAND BIRDS THIS YEAR AND WANT TO KNOW IF I CAN (OR SHOULD) HUNT WITH 100GR. RAGE 2 BLADES THAT I USE FOR DEER HER IN ND. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO STAY WITH AN EXSPANDABLE HEAD IF I CANBUT WILL CHANGE OVER IF I NEED TO.

Congrats on your deer!

I would go with a fixed blade for elk.

Congrats on your deer. Any pics?
I don't use mechanicals at all... so I would recomend the fixed!

The harvesting of does is greatly under rated, greatly. I feel its the best way to hone your skills when the time comes for MR Big Buck. Plus you can't eat them antlers. I take as many as I can under my lifetime license, this year I harvested 5, last year 6 does.

Good job

Congrats on your first archery deer! As for the elk, please try to find a fixed blade you can tune properly!

Congrats on your first! It's always good to get that first one under your belt.

I am a die-hard mechanical user and have used them since some of the first models have come out. Can you use a mechanical to take elk, absolutely! On the other hand, if you can tune up some fixed blade heads that is what I would recommend.

I wouldn't put it past the rage 2 blade. That is one heck of a head that is extremely devastating. I'd go for using it if I was you, but I'd be drawing at least 70 lbs.
