Opinions on drop aways vs. Whisker Biscut
I shoot a Mathews Outback, 70lbs 27" draw, yes I have short arms LOL
I shoot a Gold Tip 55/75 with a 100 gr Muzzy 3 blade I love my combo, this was its seconds season and since I've gotten it I've harvested a Russian boar, Spanish Goat, numerous squirrels and rabbits and 7 deer. My question is how much speed do I lose with the Whisker biscut. I've had many opinions, but I'd like to know of anyone thats got actual knowledge. Whats your favorite rest? |

That's been kicked around here a few times, I remember someone saying 6-7fps. at 70lbs. It's not much. I use a trophy taker Shaky Hunter.

A great alternative to the WB is the NAP 360 Capture....same principle, but your vanes don't pass through anything....1 small brush on bottom, 2 on top to secure the arrow, but your vanes pass through air, not bristles.

I have heard 5-7 fps. I shoot the Ultra-Rest and would reccomend it.

My own personal experience shooting the saem rig through a chrono with and without is 1-2 fps is about right. This was a well tuned WB though. If an arrow is bouncing around in there like a super ball or contacting the disc that holds the bristles then it will be slowed more........of course.
Speed loss is a non concern with the WB rest. Again.........just my experience. |
