Looking for New Sight ....

I am trying to decide what new sight to go with. I went from the sight that came in my package deal to a Carolina Foxfire 3 pin w/light. It does a good job during good lighting but I can still see deer and not my pins at dusk and dawn. I like the light. It definately lights up the pins but it causes my 20 and 30 yd pins to blur together. I really want to get something easy to adjust, not too technical, very bright pins(small diam. if possible), and not break the bank doing it. Also the peep that came on my bow seems to be smaller at dawn and dusk causing my sight picture to blur. Any suggestions on solving this problem and the sight choice issue will be greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way, the peep I think is a 3/16 or whatever is standard with the tube.

Thanks, LT

My fav sight over the past season has been the Trophy Ridge Summit. This exciting 4 pin sight has been a pleasure to shoot and hunt with this year. It's a rock solid, all metal machined, micro adjustable, bright hunting sight that has all the features you could ever want in a hunting sight. A truly GREAT sight picture!

take a look at the Sword sights... i like the twilight hunter with .019 pins. but it's a personnal choice.

hey Cornfed...... with that sight doesn't the light give off a glare with it where it is? on my Sword it's mounted off the mounting bracket to shine on the fibers only not in the pin guard. just curious as it looks like it would.

Check out the Cobra line of Sidewinder sights as well. Very, very good sights...and not a bunch of money.

Check out the Montana Black Gold Flashpoint. I took off my cobra sidewinder and tried this thing out. It is by far the brightest sight I have ever used. I can see my pins very easy before I can even see the ground. Built very well, easy to set up and you will like it.

I'm with DonK. The Montana Black Gold Flashpoint.

Absolutely the brightest sight I've ever seen. I compared one with every other sight my shop had in stock (and by shop I mean the shop in Sportsman's Warehouse, so they had quite a bit) and none even came close to being as bright.

The Cobra Sidewinder was bright, but it wasn't as bright.

I've gota Spot Hogg and another on the way, but from what you're describing that you're looking for, I'd suggest one of the Extreme RT900's... I've got two of them on my bows as well. Great sights, and very reasonably priced. (the Hardwoods one was like $80, while the basic black was $70 or so) http://www.extremearchery.com/sights1.html

You guys really need to take a look at the new Copper John Dead Nuts Competition that is coming out in 2 weeks. It has microadjust for each individual pin, windage, elevation, 2nd axis, 3rd axis, and the bubble. It also has a modular lens, options for .010 .019 and .029 pins, etc. Most importantly though it has more and easier adjustability than any other sight on the market. The only sight with true microadjust per pin is Trophy Ridge, but they tend to be a lot of plastic. The Copper John will be available to the public in approx 2x weeks.

I can't argue with a man on his b'day. You want a bright pin site that is bright before and after legal light; look no farther.

I have the Extreme RT900 and I like it alot. Its really bright but you have to be careful with the fiber optics.

Actually Spot Hogg has a very good micro adjust feature on each pin.

The new G5 sights have a nice micro adjust feature for each pin as well but I found them to be a little noisy. I think that if they would provide .019 pins and remove the noise they would have a very good sight.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I believe I will be looking hard at the Extreme RT900 and the Black Gold Flashpoint. They both seem reasonably priced and highly recommended. I will have to check them out. Also, does anyone have a preference on peep size? Can you get the tube style in a 1/8 size or is that too big?

Thanks, LT

I went with the Viper predator Pro MT. I like the pin brightness. I have .019 top and 2nd pins.....with .010 3rd and 4ths. It helps with the "halo" effect. It's the brightest sight I've seen.
