Observations.....honest observations.....

1) I've never shot a "bad" bow.
2) I've never seen camo I wouldn't take if someone gave it to me
3) I've never thought any of the open patterns were bad camo
4) I've never thought any equipment I ever purchased was pure junk

5) I GENUINELY like discussing things with everyone in here.....except those who make it impossible to do so, civilly.
6) I hope I'm staying on topic.

All of these statements are true. I've got Motown and Don and Gr8 and probably others on my butt....(and me defending myself at every turn....and dishing it out, as well)....and I don't know why. I've extended an olive branch to Chris....and I'm doing so, publicly, to others, right now. If you met me and couldn't get along with me.....you'd be a rarity. An old college girlfriend said you either loved me or hated me.....but you NEVER had to worry about where you stood with me. I'll tell you. I am BRUTALLY honest to a fault. I realize that.....but it's me. I'm also brutally up-front if I like you....and I let those people know it, too.

Don...others....I do like you guys....a LOT more than I like arguing with you. We've all shared stories. I hope to share more. I've got one I don;t know if there's hope for.....but I might not be alone, there.

Bottom line.....this place has become a big ol hen house. I apologize for the things I have done to promote that. I won't do it, again. I'm taking (not a higher)....but a different road. Hope to see you guys on the road.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Its getting to the point where coming here isn't enjoyable anymore. I'm considering not coming as often, if at all.

HuntingNet is a great place made great by the people who post here, but with all the crap being posted lately, it isn't worth it anymore.

I'm down with some getting along GMMAT. I got no problems with you or anyone else.

I'll echo your sentiments about camo..I always say I love'em all.

Now a Plug..I once said in a camo debate that I love'em all but can't afford to buy every pattern out there. I also said I'd buy any camo and wear it proudly if a Company offered me a deal.. Guess what.. only 1 stepped up and PM'd me with a bargain price. God's Country Camo..It wasn't free by any means..but they did give me a deal to good to pass-up. The patterns are very good and the service was excellant.I recieved the goods before I even had the check sent.. Remember that, when you are looking for 1st rate Customer service.

Good deal GR8. I had a similar experience in my camo choice. I even got to get in on the field testing.

Your going to get that on any website though. It's obvious who is here to learn or pass on knowledge or just stir up crap...LOL
I have been deer hunting with my bow since I was 8 years old. I have more time in the woods then most people my age. That doesn't make me a better hunter though. There is always something you can learn from others.
Jeff has some good posts and I like to read them.Others just want to get you pissed off.I'm pretty new to this website. I would just read it most of the time and never log on or post anything. Some things get beat to death over and over. It's still the best site though. Let's continue to make it that way.

I enjoy this site. I look forward to checking in each day and seeing the guys/gals discussing topics that interest me and gaining info that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise and maybe sharing some of my wisdom with others on occasion. I like seeing and hearing of others success andextending a big ole congrats to them on their accomplishments. I enjoy giving my opinion where it's asked for. I come to this site on a daily basis as a get away from my work load. I keep the site open while I'm at my desk and I'll check it several times a day to see what new topics are being discussed. It's a nice get-away for me and it allows me to break up the minotiny (sp?) of my work day by enjoying something I dearly love.... Hunting, fishing, outdoors, and the discussion of these things. Sometimes it seems as though folks around here are running a little high strung. That doesn't bother me, we're all different and have many different opinions. I agree to disagree and that's fine with me. I would like to suggest to all that you don't let your feathers get ruffeled so easily. This site is meant for us to use to gain and share knowledge and success with others. In my opinion, we should all just lighten up and not take everything so serious. JMO

Tell the thread terminator I'm meeting his wife at a motel in VA, this weekend.

That ought to get him going. I'm going out drinking and dancing with her, too.

So there.

And I thought I was the only one who was upset with the way things were being handled around here.
I posted at length in the off season forum, regarding how I thought the thread deletion and preferential treatment around here was getting ridiculous. I didnt break a single "rule" in the post.
It was deleted within 20 minutes.
I never got a response to my request for a reason.

Well, good luck with that. Don't take this place like that. Stay because you want too. Go for the same reason. No one really cares if you do either way and I'm not trying to be mean, just the way it is. We all come to say what we want to say, not really to listen.

I really enjoyed listening to myself saying that.:D

There's an interesting thing about a revolutionary person. Were all sort of like one. I believe I am. They are never followed until they are gone. They are the passionate ones who truly believe they have the answers but lack the clout of some who are believed to be a leader. The leaders often will not follow them because they can not share power, often are envious. The cause will flounder until the person with the vision is removed and then the leaders who the people will follow take up the cause because they will get the glory. The revolutionary never wanted the glory, just what was best for the people. They often felt like you do.

So there’s a reason to put a smile on your face. After your dead people will see things your way.:D

Jeff

I would stronglyadvise " not "giving MOTOWN an olive branch. He will just whittle it into a switch and spank your a** or someone else's. Not because he is mean... just because he can!! [8D] :D

You guys take a lot of this too serious. It's what you make of it. Not everyone will agree with you.Why beat yourself up trying to " debate " them.Give your opinion and let it go. You just add fuel to what can become a never ending fire. Nothing has changed... You still will do your thing, they will do their's.

Good luck onyour new road. If they are like my road... you still tend to run into bumps along it. Keeps life interesting. ;)

4) I've never thought any equipment I ever purchased was pure junk
Patience Grasshopper..... you will.[8D][8D] WE all have or will. Mine was a new climber that I bought at a show in Harrisburg before they hit the stores. They pulled it off the market before they did. Mine had a catastopic collapse the first time deep into the Adirondacks 3/4 of a mile from the road.I had practiced with it in the yard 3 or 4 times. Thank God I was younger and was at least wearing a safety belt. All that happened was I got my chain jerked, the wind knocked out of me and left me hanging sideways 12 feet up. I got zero cooperation from the manufacturer. It was junk.[&:] THe rest of your comments I can relate to.:) ...OH, and my Dad's tougher than your Dad.[8D]

I am one of the easiest going guys on the planet. I am 6'3" and 210 lbs and as with most guys my size, we are all puppy dogs and mild mannered. I have no ill feelings toward you Jeff or anybody. As Buckeye stated in the other hot thread now; "fanboys get aggravating". It is a pretty commonly known on this site that if a camo pattern is brought up it is browbeat into the ground as not being near as good as Enigma by you and Rob. I drew and shot a turkey while in my treestand this fall while wearing predator. Now how is that not as effective? I fooled a birds' eyes. You and I argued back and forth on a post about whether Drenalines have handshock. You said no way that they had handshockand the other day I saw in a threadwhere you admit the drenaline has handshock. When I made that review; only a handful of archers in the country had even had a chance to shoot the drenaline. Now it is commonly accepted by everybody in the archery industry that the drenaline does have somenoticeable handshock.I have no owner loyalty with any product; period. I use what I like and won't use something I don't. I had a guy the other day offering to hook me up with a carbon clothing maker. I said ," No way, the stuff is a ripoff of consumers and doesn't work. I won't sell out or use something I don't believe in."
I prefer predator camo over my enigmaand I like my Vectrix over my Tribute. I own both types of camo and both bows and can make an honest comparison as I own both. I will hunt with my enigma and tribute though.I have shot the Switchback XT and I really like the bow. I even told my dealer that if he gets a good used one in when someone trades theirs in for a drenaline to give me a call.

What do you expect? I ask for some comments on sticks and limbs and I am told that "IT won't fit the bill" and that the "photos are all staged". Am I suppossed to roll over and say, yea, nothing works like that enigma?!!

Just "debate" Don:

It is a pretty commonly known on this site that if a camo pattern is brought up it is browbeat into the ground as not being near as good as Enigma by you and Rob.
That's unfair. I've never said ANYTHING derogatory about ANY other camo pattern. Go back and look. Your statement is TOTALLY unfair.

I drew and shot a turkey while in my treestand this fall while wearing predator. Now how is that not as effective?
I never said it wasn't (being fair, again.....when did I say this?). Also.....there are parts of the country that shy away from the taking of turkeys from treestands. Not me, per se......but in my neck of the woods its taboo.

You and I argued back and forth on a post about whether Drenalines have handshock. You said no way that they had handshockand the other day I saw in a threadwhere you admit the drenaline has handshock.
Now Don....I'm not arging with you....I'm just setting the record straight. The posts are back ther ein the archives....and anyone could go back an check to see if I'm misstating things. I stated a long time ago that the VECTRIX AND the TRYKON....AND (more recently) the drenaline ALL had hand shock (or in the case of the Drenaline....wasn't as smooth as the other Mathews bows). In fact.....I think I said I thought the Trykon was going to jump out of my hands. That's what I said.

I prefer predator camo over my enigmaand I like my Vectrix over my Tribute. I own both types of camo and both bows and can make an honest comparison as I own both.
Bravo!! It's just like wives, Don.....they're all special to us.....and we have different tastes/wants/needs and desires. I love mine. You love yours. That doesn't make one "better" than the other.

What do you expect? I ask for some comments on sticks and limbs and I am told that "IT won't fit the bill" and that the "photos are all staged". Am I suppossed to roll over and say, yea, nothing works like that enigma?!!
If you'll go back to that thread.....I NEVER said ANYTHING bad about ANY camo. I also NEVER said ANYTHING about another brand. I even said I hated the "staged" photos of EVERY MANUFACTURER.....and singled out NONE. If we're going to be fair.....that's what I did.

Once again.....I'm just discussing this with you. If I did something wrong....I'll apologize to you.....right here in the forum.

Sincerely

jeff

GMMAT, I hear ya. I used to be on this site all the time. My post count used to be up in the thousands pre-crashes. The last 3 years or so I come on toward the end of the season to send congrats to those that are successful and get some info on new products.

It used to be a very good site with some very informative guys. Guys like JeffB, Sag, WWAG, Len, and others would have fascinating conversations/debates that helped guys like me out a great deal. None of that goes on anymore because those with the knowledge got tired of being told how wrong they are because their opinion conflicted with someone's personal preference. Nevermind that they were basing their opinion on years of experience and technical expertise, they were wrong because there is no way company XYZ could put out a bad product.

As it is I come on here every now and again and get what I can and make a few posts that hopefully contribute to the site. More often times than not when I'm here long enough I get fed up and leave until the next year. It is a crying shame, but things change with time. I know everyone here means well, but sometimes we get so emotionally attached to a product we forget what we are really here for, the love of archery and hunting.

Exactly why nothing will change and I'm going into moderator/kindergarden only mode. I'm no longer a member first, I am now a moderator only.. This forum needs a little house cleaning. Call it tough love and I'm not going to make any friends over this one. I'm tired of the bickering and taking posts out of context. NO ONE BROUGHT UP ONE BRAND OVER ANOTHER.

I really like this site. Sure there are arguments and pi$$ing matches.I think we would be crazy to think there would be constant harmony...[:-]

The problem I see is that thepi$$ing matcheson one topic will spill over onto other topics and the pi$$ing match that originated 2 weeks ago is now being re-hashed in a thread that has nothing to do with the original Pi$$ing match.

Let it go and move on. :D

So keep posting, It's a New Year soon and we can start off on the right foot.:D

Actually, I didn't think it was all that bad. You ought to go on some political forums for a while and see what that's like. Debating ideas and opinions is healthy as long as it doesn't get nasty and personal.

Some things seem a little sillly, though. Sometimes I get the feeling that anybody that isn't itching to spend $800 at the end of each season to buy the bow with the newest name can't possibly be an effective hunter.

The attitude that "the kind I use is the best" reminds me of when I was young. Sorta like when everybody was trying to spend the most on a car stereo and proclaim it was the best.

We agree to disagree, otherwise we become "The Mutual Admiration Society" . I must be naiive or something I assumed most of the bickering was in good fun and not intended to be malicious. I've learned a lot on this site especially about turkey hunting which I knew little about. I'll keep coming back!
