Sharpening using a variety of stones and without a mechanical aid like those mentioned, requires a certain "feel" that isn't easy to apply especially with curved blade surfaces.
Gerber makes a diamond sharpener for the guthook. Its look like a screwdriver with the diamond surface on the shaft. You place the round shaft onto the guthook area and use it like a file or rasp. Works great and it will also do a great job on knives with serrated blades. |
