Now to me there is nothin better than huntin hard for deer with my compound, but i also like to hunt small game (rabbits and squirrels) with my lil 35# recurve.Do you thinkshooting the recurve have any effect on my abilitiy to shoot the compound?

they are pretty different but if you can hit a rabbit or squrriel with a recurve then you should easily be able to kill a deer "aim small, miss small"

A man after my own heart. An absolutely great way to extend the season, scout and practice all at the same time. Over the years I went from longbows, to recurves to compounds and did not have problems switching between bows but for the most part I shot fingers and with bows canted, no sights and a very high anchor (right on the corner of my right eye) looking right down the arrow atthe target. So, I really wasn't changing my style much. I now shoot a compound with sights and a release almost exclusively but when the arthritis isn't too bad I can still shoot a recurve reasonably well but just 3-6 shots. I have not found going back and forth a problem, in fact, I'm working hard to rehab soI can again do exactly what your doing. One thing though, I've never shot targets at a range, so my idea of, "reasonably well", is probably very different than almost everyone on this forum.

It does have an effect on shooting a compound. Last summer I shot a recurve for 4 months without my compound at all. When i picked up the compound I was shooting better than ever. I think the concentration you learn when shooting without sights helps with any shooting.
