What? Is 100 ftlbs of KE good? Yes and whose getting that out of a bow?

How much do your arrows weigh?

If you are shooting 276 fps and getting 100 ft lbs of KE, than your arrows would have to weigh 595 grains.

That's a very heavy arrow. The Beman 350's in your signature would not be nearly that heavy.

Something's not quite right in your figures.....

Please list your specs, your arrow weight as mentioned, and your speed please because that zmax listed in your signature doesn't have it in it unless your draw length is crazy long.;)

At 440 grains and 276 fps your Kinetic Energy is 74.44.

That's still pretty dang good. You could kill anything in North America and most of the stuff in Africa with that.

See why I had my doubts, I didn't think you were getting 100, ....83 is great. It calculates the amount of stored energy that your arrow has when impacting an object. It helps aid in penetration...think of it as power.....but KE is not the only force, there is momentum as well.

The calculation just gives some information pertaining to "power", in a bullet we might say, "Knock down power"..understand. I know that's simplistic but just an example.
