Gray Wolf Woolens

Any of you have any experience with Gray Wolf wool? Really hoping for a comparison against other top brands like King of the Mountain, Sleeping Indian, etc.....

Mods, I've already searched the gear forums and found nothing, hopefully ya'll will let this one slide..

Thanks,

Joel

I have heard that GWW is nothing but quality!
Heck, if I could afford it, I would buy only camo from GWW.

Their stuff is great. I have some fleece from them and am planning on getting some wolfskin stuff this offseason. IMO that is the best material out there right now.

I've never had any experience with Gray Wolf, but I just ordered the Browning Highland Wool jacket and pants from Bass Pro Shops. Total was approx. $150.00. Should get it in today. I can't wait. Is there really that much difference in brands of wool clothing?

Jeff Aulik, owner of Gray Wolf Woolens, is one of the classiest and top-notch dealers I've ever bought anything from. He'll work with you on custom-fitting your garment to your exact specifications, and can add just about anything you need to your clothing per your request.

I'd highly endorse him and his company. I obviously spend a lot of time on here and a couple other forums as well; I've never heard one bad remark about him over the years.

double creek, I don't have direct experience, but I do have some knowledge about this. Probably the best wool hunting clothing in the business is Sleeping Indian. My uncle has tried several wool makers, including King of the Mountain and he feels they are not even close. I had a chance to wear his SI during late gun season one year and all I can say is wow. Very warm, even with only two layers underneath. It was 15 when I went to the stand that morning.

Now, as for Grey Wolf. They use 28oz wool, same as Sleeping Indian and KOM. so its very warm. The only real difference that I know of is that SI and KOM have clothes on the spot while Grey Wolf tailor makes your stuff with every option being available to you.

What I feel it really boils down to is personal preference. Regardless of what you get, especially when it comes to high quality wool clothing, you're gonna pay through the nose for it. In my opinion, the Sleeping Indian stuff is unrivaled. Its incredible. However, the Grey Wolf stuff rocks. You'll get it in Predator camo. How cool is that?

I personally have a complete set of Wolf Skin clothing from Grey Wolf now and couldn't be happier. Jeff, the owner, is a top notch guy and will bend over backwards to help you make decisions on his clothing.

I can't answer the wool question specifically with Gray Wolf, but I can speak for the quality of their clothing in general.I have wolfskin with comformax lining.I have a jacket and pants. They are very warm,in fact the pants are so warm that there was only one time the entire past season that I wore long underwear while wearing them.I think the coolest temperature that I hunted in though was around 20 degrees. For additional warmth you can have the comformax lining and lite loft lining together.
Jeff (the owner) Is an incredibly decent guy who provides exceptional service! I have never seen garments for hunting that have been made so well, the detail and thought that have been put in to them is bound to impress. They are not inexpensive but the quality is exceptional.I would rather have less and have better than have a lot and not be satsfied.
Jeff will send you samples of material,if you call or email him.One of my Christmas gifts will be a wolfskin vest that will be comformax and lite loft lined. With that additional garment I will have almost all my hunting scenarios taken care of from a clothing perspective.
Great stuff!
