I've never named a compound. I figure they came with their name stamped on 'em anyway, so it'd be redundant.
Had a longbow once I called 'Thumper.' 120 pounds draw, shooting 2419's. It hit what I was shooting at really hard, and it had just as much handshock at my end. It was a Thumper at both ends.[&:]
My all time favorite recurve was a Brackenbury Legend. I named it Mojo, because that's what it had. Weren't many misses built into that bow.

I named my first successful hunting bow, "Gandiva." In the Bhagavad Gita (Hindu holy book), the hero's name is Arjuna. He is an archer warrior and hunter. He searches for meaning in his life after he reaches the peak of ambition. He talks with Krishna (Hindu god) to find peace and fulfillment. He finds it in service to others, kindalike Jesus preached. Anyway, Arjuna's bow was named Gandiva. So, after I took my first doe in 2000 I named by PSE Baby-G "Gandiva." Now I shoot a Buckmaster G2 and her name is Gandiva II. I've always wondered why one of these major bow companies have never named one Gandiva.
