RE: Hunting Knives
Thats pretty cool GregH, does he sell them also? If so, does he have an online store. What about the sheds, does he find them all himself, or does he buy them off people? Pretty cool regardless.

RE: Hunting Knives
I always wanted one my friends grandfather to make me a knife out of antler with a 6"-7" drop point blade on it. But he died before I could ask him. I need to learn how to do that stuff. Those knives are awesome, beautiful work.

RE: Hunting Knives
yeah, nice looking knives. what kind of steel is he using? looks like the fit & finish is fairly refined.
|
RE: Hunting Knives
Real nice knives. I'll give you my adddress so you can overnite me one for Christmas. Just think of my joy opening it. I'd do it for you. My brother makes Viagra if your up for a trade. Well I guess if your not up for it or whatever. Let me know.

RE: Hunting Knives
Nice knives!! I have been wanting to try making some handles out of antler. I'll post pics if they turn out>
|
RE: Hunting Knives
These knives are my brothers display. He will be making more of them that will be for sale. I gave one each to my farmer friend and his son for letting me hunt. They were more than pleased. When I got back from that trip, my brother gave me one also. I've been trying pretty hard to get a chance to try it out![:-]

RE: Hunting Knives
Awesome talent your brother has there Greg. Those are real nice.
|
RE: Hunting Knives
Very nice knives; he is a true craftsman in his art.

RE: Hunting Knives
Beautiful and no disrespect but most are way too big for a hunting knife. It amazes me to see a hunter carrying a pig sticker. A pefect knife for gutting and skining is more like this one you posted(below), the smaller of the two. Very Nice and thanks for sharing. I have 2 made of antler, I don't use eithe for hunting, too big. Actually the smaller one below would be even more perfect with a shorter, slightly thicker blade.
Your brother is very talented. ![]() |
RE: Hunting Knives
i have one like that also and they look good.
|
RE: Hunting Knives
Rob, the blades on those two are about 4" long. Maybe not as big as you think. I knew I should have put a ruler in there!;)

Darn good looking knives Greg. There's a man that live 20 or so miles from me that makes knives also and my wife bought me one a couple of years ago for Christmas. Still one of the best gifts that I've received.

RE: Hunting Knives
Those look awesome! It'd be nice to have one of those instead of the crap I have from Dick's...
|
RE: Hunting Knives
So, if you use the bases for the handles, what is the rest of the antler used for if anything?
I have always wanted an antler handle knife for hunting and those are some nice looknig ones. |
