Losing antlers already
A guy I work with went to Hillsboro last weekend for shotgun season. He brought in a picture today of a buck his friend shot. A nice closeup of where the antlers used to be.

RE: Losing antlers already
No doubt yes. I've heard of them falling off when shot in our rifle season or grabbed for draging which ended this past Saturday.
Depends on the individual animal. |

The earliest trail cam pics of deer that have shed was Dec. 8. And have seen deer shot earilier that that have dropped. Crazy.

RE: Losing antlers already
Some of the big boys are dropping. Here is Iowa, it is key to check the head multiple times when second season shotgun hunting. Many people think their shooting 'big does' and they end up tagging a mature buck with a doe tag because they didn't check out the head. The little guys probably won't start dropping for another month or so yet.
