RE: Make your own ground blind
Hey guys,
I think this contraversial thred stuff is my specialty. Tent was northern exposure bought at a local Ace hardware Half a decade ago. My step brother ripped the door off so my parent asked me if i could use it i said yeah. It doesn'thave any zippers. all velcro. The tent is still underneath the camo cover. I safety pinned the "shoot through screens i got to the inside of the tent! I don't trust the tension on them so i simply leave them off when i hunt. They're basicly See through windows. You can see the thirty zip ties along the left pole. I left the portable fly on top of the tent before i put the camo on. It gave it that dome look. Well keep picking this post apart and good luck. |
RE: Make your own ground blind
I also think it looks rounder because it very unstable. Leans way to the left.
The tent doesn't really have the support of sidewalls since i cut into all four and if you look very closely you see the tent through the right side at the bottom. Ill give you pictures from the inside aye?? |
RE: Make your own ground blind
Ohhhhh, I see now. Man you did a great job. If a person were to send you their old tent how much would you charge to turn it into a custom ground blind?

RE: Make your own ground blind
When I owned the cleaners and had all the big commercial grade sewing machines, I made one that's 5 sided. I don't have a picture. Anyway, I even have a bow hanger in the peak. It has a bottom and everything. Made it with shock corded tent poles, 2 different camo designs, one on 3 sides the other on two. I went with smaller shooting slits and viewing windows covered with screen/leavy material that can be opened or left shut for viewing. I used it once. Go figure. Hours and hours in the off season sewing tent pole sleeves and a water proof floor and it hangs in the garage for 5 years.[&:]

RE: Make your own ground blind
I just try to save a buck.$
I'd tell someone else to buy one and save the hassel. I have a fiance' and a 18month old at home. Projects like this one help justify me spending so much time in the woods and pursuing what makes me happy. [hr] If you hunt good you don't have to do it the "Hard way" [hr] just make sure your doing it "your way" Thats how i get the most satisfaction out of hunting! |
