RE: rabbet hunting with bows
It's pretty fun when you got a couple inches of snow on the ground. They are much easier to see.

RE: rabbet hunting with bows
Use a recurve or stickbow for fast shooting.Use the wire looking thingies for tips and fluflus if you want your arrows back.Move slow and gently hit abow grunt call set on doe if you want to get up on them.Keep your eyes open on a cold-cold sunny day and youll have lots of fun!

I think we can do it steve but we are going to have to have white fletchings. It will make it eaiser to find the arrows if we miss. But we can hunt in the snow becuase there is almost not snow if any in kentucky.

RE: rabbet hunting with bows
I've taken many a rabbit with my bow. I recommend Judo Points or at least Grasshoppers behind your arrow tips to stop your arrows from deflecting and burying in the dirt and grass.

RE: rabbet hunting with bows
is it better to use a compound or a recurve
|
RE: rabbet hunting with bows
Recurve makes for quicker shooting but if you have a slow pushing dog you can get away with a compound. That's what I had, a great Beagle that pushed rabbits slow, you new when he turned them and they'd try to sneak through.
