how long are your bow seasons?

hi how long does your bow seasons run? here in michigan you can hunt from oct. 1st thru jan.1st with the proper licence(firearm for rifle season). you can shoot 2 bucks but one tag has to be used on a buck that has a least 4 pts. on a side, plus you could've bought landowners permit up until a couple of weeks ago.one a day! in this county they issued 12,000 of them. DNR want to get the buck/doe ratio to 1-1 which will not happen and i don't think it is what we need. i would like to see some sort of qdm, but too many like seeing lots of deer.
thanks LAH

In Illinois you can bowhunt from Oct. 1st through Jan. 16th except for the 7 day shotgun season. 2 bucks can be taken during archery, shotgun/muzzleloader combined. As long as you can afford to buy tags, you can take as many does as you want. Personally it wouldn't bother me to see only 1 buck allowed for the time being.

Here in Va. East of the Blue Ridge Mts. the season usually runs from the first Saturday in Oct. to the first Saturday in Jan. Because the deer population is so high in the Eastern part of Va, it has opend for the last couple years in the second week of Sept. with a does only first couple weeks but the state will also tag them for you. You get 2 either sex tags ,1 buck only and 1 anterless only tags with your lic. you can then go back and purchase 2 bonus (doe only) tags for $12.50 and take 2 more does, you can buy as many bonus tags as you like in sets of 2, but they can only be used on private land and some military bases or park properties. So if you were lucky enough you could, in theory, take something like 176 deer, only three being bucks though. You are allowed to take 2 deer a day (most places) every day season is open.~Ben

In Maryland, September 15th-January 30th. We have four "regions", A,B,C,&D. Four deer per region for bow (two in each have to be doe). Region C, unlimited doe. Not counting unlimited does, total bag for year, gun, BP, & bow, is somewhere around 38 deer. There are also some special hunts, where the deer bagged don't count towards the state limit. This also doesn't include sika deer on our Eastern Shore.

In Nebraska it is September 15 - December 31st. You can get two any deer tags. Specific areas have unlimited # of antlerless tags if the tags don't run out (they never have yet).

In Texas, with a standard hunting license (49 dollars) you can take up to 5 deer with no more than 2 bucks. There are a couple counties in deep south Tx. where you can take 3 bucks. If you like, you can take 5 doe. There are a few counties with lower limits. This is done Sept. 27 to Jan 19.

3 weeks and 4 weeks during rifle season. For a doe tag you must be a draw and there are only 2000 issued. And you can only shoot one deer per year.( we only have 80,000 deer in the province. the price of a hunting lic is $28

Here in Minnesota we get to start the second week in September through december 31. 3 1/2 months is really nice! The bad thing is you can only shoot 1 buck regaurdles of how you take it.(archery, firearms, muzzleloader) once you've got one, you're done!

PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE......SUCCESS!

In Iowa, Oct. 1st - Nov. 30th. Archery only with 2 weeks of that being shared with black powder. You get 1 tag, either sex. If your a landowner, you get 2 tags, either sex. The landowner tag is $1.00. The regular tag is $26.00. In Dec., we have 2 different shotgun seasons, usually 5 to 7 days each. Then in Jan. we have a bonus antlerless season. Any weapon, does only. antlerless seasons are limited to the southern counties and quotas differ from 1 county to the next. My county has 400 antlerless tags to fill this year. $11.00 each. So as a resident landowner hunter, I can take 2 bucks and as many does as I want to buy tags for during the bonus season with a bow. If I where to add black powder and shotgun, I could add 2 more deer.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.

The season for Long Island NY is from October 1 through December 31. Bow only. Then shotgun season opens for a few weeks in December.

It used to be November 1 through December 31 but last year they extended it a month.
