snow camo
Hi Guys,
Do any of you wear snow camo when hunting? If so what style/brand do you prefer? |
RE: snow camo
I have some old overwhites by Spartan in a Realtree-like pattern. They are a mesh similar to a bug suit so they weigh nothing and can be slipped on over the top of my normal gear. That's a great advantage here where you may start out at sea level on bare ground and then climb to 2500' in a foot of snow by the end of the day. They fit in your pocket and save a second set of outerwear; they were cheap too. I bought the stuff over 15 years ago and haven't seen it anywhere since. I'd like to get a second set since I keep tearing the legs with my crampons.

RE: snow camo
I bought a cover up suit from Cabela's last year. It's the Seclusion 3D snow pattern. It's an awesome looking pattern, especially for the terrain I hunt this time of year in ND. The material seems very durable as well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to put it to a good test since we don't seem to get snow anymore[:@]

RE: snow camo
I have a one piece jump suit with hood in a Realtree Hardwood pattren , it's mostly white with black and brown twigs and branches on it.
It blends in really good on the ground but you really stick out like a sore thumb in a tree. |
RE: snow camo
I usually stay away from camo with white in it mainly because most of the white dyes out there contain UV brightners right in the dye. No way to get it out. Even though snow reflects UV rays, it is stationary. Any movement on your part could get you busted easier IMO.
It sure looks good to the human eye though. ;) |
