Crimson Talon?
what is your imput on the new cimson talon hyperspeed broadheads? are they any good or should I just stick with the Muzzy's?
|
RE: Crimson Talon?
My friend shot his buck with one. It killed the buck but the broadhead was all busted up. IMO they are junk.
|
RE: Crimson Talon?
I used them this fall and on my only opportunity had a complete pass through from 35 yards. No trouble with the broadheads being busted up. Almost appeared like I could use it again. I am always open to trying new products.Just my limited opinion.

ORIGINAL: Oneshot7 they just came out with the stronger blades motown the old ones were junk....the new ones are beasts...the hole cant clot so it has to bleed out;) |
RE: Crimson Talon?
hyperspeeds or the original talons motown
|
RE: Crimson Talon?
Hoyt VTEC 70# 30" Draw No Bending and not busted up. Like I said it looked like I could shoot it again. Motown one persons bad experience hardly makes it junk. I am sure someone in this world has had a bad experience at some point with the brand you shoot.

RE: Crimson Talon?
I tried the original crimson talons and lost a real nice 160 inch 8 pointer due to their poor quality. The end of the broadhead broke off in the shoulder blade, arrow didn't even penetrate. 1/2 inch was broke off the broadhead. I shoot 70 #'s, now on the other hand my wife shoots them and has good luck. She shoots 45 # and has complete pass throughs with them. So you make the call, I don't use them any more

RE: Crimson Talon?
I dont like them. They never seem to fly right and there expensive and they dont hold up.
So i will stick with my thunder heads. So far i have shot 4 deer with them and only bent one. and im not even sure why it bent. But the others that i shot deer with are fine. |
RE: Crimson Talon?
I was going to post about these on Sat. evening after being out in the yard doing some target practice with both the bow and X-bow. Well I only ended up shooting one of the threeand it hit exactly where I wanted it to and it penetrated about another inch and a half into my McKenzie compared to other tips. Only thing was when I went to pull it out all 3 blades broke of because of how they are curved at the ends (NOT THINKING). But only after one shoot they seem to fly straight and are sweet looking. Only thing is when you go to screw them in and put pressure on the blades they seem to bend. So far the strongest blades that I have found on the market are the NAP blades.IMO....

RE: Crimson Talon?
I killed three deer with them last year, and yes the deer bled like crazy but they are essentially a one time broadhead and then you have to replace the blades at a minimum. I had one of them bend at the hosel fairly badly. They do the job if you are in to dropping $10 every shot and not concerned about reusing them. IMO there are a lot better broadheads on the market. Consistency shouldn't be an issue if your bow is tuned properly so there isn't alot of value in their claim of flying just like field tips.

RE: Crimson Talon?
i use them and fred bears
they both work amazing the crimsons i havent had any trouble with they are fas tand accurate and do the job. i also buy mine for 11 dolaars at walmart at the end of season. |
RE: Crimson Talon?
I got my fiance into bow hunting this year. She wanted to shoot them. They shoot good groups, but when you pull them out there is and art to it. You have to try to twist while you pull them out like they went in.
She hasn't shot a deer yet. Basically, they will kill a deer just like anything else. It's all a matter of preference and confidence. Get whatYOU want. |
