How much are food plots worth ??
 

I just found out that the timber company that holds my lease is proposing to those who lease over 100 acres to lease out acreage, within the lease, for food plots. The way it would work is if you lease over 100 acres you can designate a certain acre or acres for food plots. The cost is $ 100.00 per acre , and the timber company agrees to not spray herbicide or replant trees in that or those acres. They do not have to be connecting acres. You can have an acre here and an acre there or you can have them together, with as many acres as you want to pay for.

What do you guys think of this, and is it a good deal at 100.00 / acre.

How much of a benefit would each acre provide a deer heard. We have a lot of deer here, and we do not have much for them to eat besides rough forage. ( no crops here ).

They have affected the deer herd better than anything we did other than the logging project for our patch in PA. I plan to put in 2 more next year for a total of 3 plots and about 4 acres total. Lots of info over in the Wildlife Management forum...........
