Single caliper or dual caliper release?
 

Any preferences? Either one more accurate than the other? Smoothness?

Been hunting with a Scott Lil Goose(single), thinking of trying the Scott Sabertooth(dual).

I'm switching after this season from my trusty ol' Scott dual caliper which I've used to shoot off the string with, in combination with an eliminator button, to a Wildcat with a loop. What I'm having trouble deciding on is if I want the solid barrel version, or one with a nylon or rope connector. I like the idea of being able to leave my release on all the time and just tuck the head into my shirt sleeve...

I use a Fletcher with the strap and like the way you can tuck it out of the way! Plus it seems a bit more accurate then the barrel type. If you tweek your wrist the slightest your shot will be off. This of course, is just my experience!

Greg, I shot a Carter Lokjaw(nylon connector) and liked it. It just wasn't a good release to use with a loop because of barrel width. I have no problem using my Lil Goose with a loop, but I see that Scott is promoting both the Wildcat and Sabertooth as good releases to use with a string loop.

Personal preference with barrel, rope, or nylon connectors and being comfortable, tho for hunting that dang barrel can get in the way.;)

I have found that for me personally that a single is more consistant.

The reason is I can lay the release of a single style right next to my face and it isn't affected but with a double,the caliper hits my face and isn't as consistant as a single.

I REALLY like my Short & Sweet II by Tru Ball. Perfect for a loop when shot right off the caliper.(remove rope)

Greg and CM, I went with the Truglo Copper Head cause I didn't know about the WildCat...I'm sure they're both great. I like the Dual head,

Regardless, Greg, I'd suggest the Strap over the solid barrel, like you said, it's great to tuck it away especially when climbing etc...nothing there to clank....just a thought.
