I don't think it has anything to do with age. I have shot small bucks (way back) with that.It looks weird and is more course than the other hair.

Take him, like an old doe, he's not really helping the herd (antler makeup) anymore and I already told you what to do with the sign in the picture.

I had the same thing this year, looked like he had a rug on....and a pot belly. looks like my grand-dad!
