I have ran over a few fawns during the first hay cutting of the year with hay bine. Once the only thing I had was a pocket knife to cut the thing out of it. Very nasty situation. The doe came to the egde of the field looking for her baby. SAD!

Yeah, i have seen lots of fawns and turkeys killed by hay sickles in the past. I was actually brush hogging one time and was backing up to get an area i couldnt drive through. I looked over my shoulder and saw a fawn squirming to get out of the way. Luckily i saw her at the last second...

Thanks for clearifying sunset, that's why I asked the questions I did. The second picture would have saved a lot of HHnmmm's. Sad fact of life in the daily routine of a whitetail. I hope he utilized the meat that was still good.

I got the same Email a while back with several pics. of this incident. If I remember right, they actually used an ATV to pull the deer out of the combine!
Like many have said, a lot of woldlife gets run through farm implements. This doesn't surprise me all that much!
