Buckle strap or Velcro?

RE: Buckle strap or Velcro?
My old release had velcro, it stuck to everything. It would stick to the armrests of my stand, my mesh gloves and facemask, and countless other things. When I bought my Scott release, the first thing I did was take off the brand new velcro strap and put on a buckle strap that I bought for it. I'm happy. I suppose one of these days I should sell the velcro strap that came with the release, it is brand new, never even been tried on.

I'm not sure that this is a real big problem. I've hunted with the same release since 1993 and it has velcro. It is a Winns Free Flight. I'm on my second strap. I also have a Tru-ball Tornado with velcro, but I haven't hunted with it yet. For me, the only time that velcro is noisy is when you take it off. If you work at it carefully, it's not all that bad. The best thing about velcro is that it is infinately adjustable for what ever size glove you're putting it over. They also slide in and out of my pocket without catching on anything. I like the velcro although I've never tried a buckle.

theres nothing wrong with velcro, except its made for little kids shoes and to hang stuff on the walls, velcro has no place in the woods, i have shot a velcro for 12 years and then finally realized that the buckle is better than sliced bread.....only way to go

The one I use now has velcro. If I get another one some time, I might switch. I open mine up and put it in my pocket and put it on when I get to the stand and that doesn't make any noise. When I get ready to get down, I peel it off slowly and that doesn't make any more noise than I make getting down. I don't believe it is a big issue. Now hunting clothes is a different issue. I hate clothes with velcro.
