I recently bought some 8x42 Nikon Monarchs. I love them. Nice and clear, bright images. Yesterday We were done hunting for the afternoon and I was noticing that I could not see beyond the wood line. I picked up the binos and was able to see right through and pick out details even though it was too dark to see with the naked eye. I'll never go back to cheap compacts again.
