Finally got a good one! MO
Took a week off work to do some bowhunting in early November. I hunted seven straight days and could have killed 4 of the 7 days but I was waiting for the right one. He FINALLY showed up. Ten pointer that green scored 158" gross and 155 2/8" net.
Here's the story, it's a pretty good one... There were two yearlings in front of me. I noticed them looking into a thicket and all of a sudden out walks this 160-170 ten pointer. He's out in front of me about 60 yards grunting like crazy. A mature doe walks in about 30 yards to my left. The big ten pointer sees her and starts running towards her. He's running into a shooting lane which I would have about a 35 yard shot. I "baahh" at him to try to stop him in my shooting lane, but he stops just past it. He then takes off for the doe again. He enters into another shooting lane to my left. I get him to stop and I figure he was about 40 yards. My arrow flies just under him. He was about 45-46 yards away. He didn't know what was going on. He jumped away to about 60 yards. I start grunting and bleating trying to get him back but he goes back to chasing the doe. All of a sudden I hear something running in from behind me. I look up and there my buck coming right in. He gets to 15 yards, I get him to stop and it's all over. He went about 60 yards from my stands and falls over. He heard me calling and couldn't resist. What a hunt!
