rocky mountian warheads(the expandable version)
 

I bought rocky mountian warheads today because all i have heard about them is good. could you guys give me some of the pros and cons of them?

I tested them a while back. The first batch I had had some heat treating problems with the blades. I figured the heads were just junk. Well Bruce Barrie took care of the problem and sent some replacements. These were very good mechanical heads. They are durable, sharp, and open fast. They are also very accurate. The great thing about them is the blade replacment system, no tiny screws to play with, just replace the entire cartrage by sliding the old one off and the new one on. I would rate them as high as most of the rocket mechanicals, and if you have a properly tuned bow with at least 55 ft/lbs of energy they should work very well on deer size critters.

thanks 5 shot one more question could i take an angled shot with these heads (my bow is a 63#) so i think that they could just go right threw the ribs but don't want to try anything llike an angle shot unless i know it will work.

I have found that with most mechanical heads you can take angled shots without any problems. just keep the angles reasonable, and make sure your bow is tuned properly! Bow tune has more to do with deflection than the head it'self in most cases( may opinion only). The warheads have a long tip that sticks out past the blades wich "grabs" the hide and makes the head stick, so I really don't think you will have a problem with quarting shot.
