Do coyotes scare deer away?

My brother and I have been hunting the last few days and we haven't seen any deer, then this morning my brother saw a coyote. Do coyotes scare deer away and if sowill we ever see deer again.

I have seen one lone coyote change the direction of a group of deer several times. Deer definitely take notice of coyotes, and will keep a cautious eye on them.

As said above but not always. I watched a coyote and a 1.5 year old buck come together face to face at 10 yards. They stared each other down for while and then the buck hopped twice, the coyote hopped forward, they both looked at each other and went their own way. The buck wagged his tail, neither one was really interested in the other.

The Drury's have on film, 2 coyotes pushing a mature buck into a draw where the 3rd was waiting and they tore the buck apart when he hit the ditch.

Coyotes definately have their attention.

I saw a yote this morning, and 10 minutes after I shot him, 2 does and a buck walked his same trail....But I've also seen them cross the path of one and bolt...

Greg, I'll ask my friend Q2INWHITETAILS, he brought it up to my place one time. I also saw it on their show on the outdoor channel. It was gruesome. The two in the fields knew exactly what they were doing to push that buck into the awaiting 3rd.

Yes, coyotes will run deer out of the woods.

They will definitely return. But, I believe that the general rule of thumb for "spooked" deer is that they will return in two days. But during the rut, deer run for a long time for long distances.

I had 6 different yotes in the same morning 30 yards within my stand. I had 15 deer walk by my stand that same morning. They did spook one family of does and had them running a bit but after that I had more deer coming from the same way the yotes did. It won't scare deer away forever it just keeps them on the lookout. IMO

Sat same standthis morning and saw 3 bucks and and 5 doe minus one that I took. You will see deer again.
