Default Worms?

well i shot a buck this mroning and when we started gutting it, we noticed there were white worms inside the cavity. The shot, blew the heart into a million pieces so i was thinking maybe heartworm, but what do you guys think. Will the meat still be good?

If you hit the heart it has to be heartworms. Meat would be just fine. The only meat that gets any other type of worm is pork or bear and that parasite is called trichnosis(spelling?) There are no parasite worms that live in deer meat that has ever been brought up in the news that I have ever heard of. Thougherly cooking pork or bear kills trichnosis.

I posted some links on your other thread. Here's one.

Here's the other

Would have been nice to save a couple and have an expert look at them.
