How difficult is it to start fletching my arrows?
 

I was wondering what I would need to start fletching arrow shafts instead of buying fletched arrows. Would it be worth the effort to have my arrows fletched the way I want them? Is it difficult to do?

It's extremely easy to do, and yes, it's well worth it. Anything that you can do to make yourself a more self-reliant bowhunter is time well spent.

You'll need a fletching jig (I prefer BPE Pro Fletchers for about $40.00), some fletching cement, vanes or feathers, and that's about it.

get a blitzerburger fletcher and do it your self, it is real easy and you can do it on your kitchen table

No, it is not difficult. Once you start doing it, you probably will never buy finished arrows again. Like others have mention, get the bitz jig. It is well worth the few extra bucks.

I bought a used jig from an archery store and started my own. The hardest part for me is not getting too much adheasive but it is well worth it.

My brother in law and I started to do our own this year. Buy bare shafts and do it yourself. It is easy and rewarding. It is REAL nice when you rip a vain. All you do is put a new one on and go back to shooting. Saves a trip the the shop.

Its easy and great. I like either the BPE or the Jo Jan. The good thing about the Jo Jan is that u can do a whole batch of arrows in one sweep instead of havin to do one at a time. But, its like the mathews/hoyt debate, either u love the bitz and hate the Jo Jan, or vice versa. Plus, u can do your own colors instead of havin to buy pre-fletched ones.
