MORE DEER!!!

Well, after putting my camera up again i have discovered there ARE still deer, but unfortunately all at night. The does to me dont look like the are in heat because there "hocks" arent dark or anything. the buck looks like he has been because of the broken antler. Whats your guys take on them. i think the one single deer is a little button buck that has been running by himself since june. ENJOY!!

I bet they are, just by the time of the year. Though, you are a bit south of me, so yours may come in later, but I bet they are. One those does tarsals was pretty dark, but I'm not sure that really indicates much on a doe.

Well, where do I begin. It sounds like you're hunting your mineral, salt, bait sites or whatever. Deer get wise to these things really quick. Smell you, see you, see you kill a friend.... they become spooky. This is easy food. If they want it they gallop to it after dark. They don't need to forage to find it. They know where it is. You've been putting it here for months. It always comes back to my theory that baiting screws up deer feeding habits and patterns. PLUS... at this time of year deer aren't so into salt blocks. They really hit these hard during the spring and early summer when they are about to or have given birth. They really wean off these type of sites by late summer or Sept. They'll still hit them if there is food around, but not with the furvor they did in June.

well it was there during the summer, and i took it out mid august, and just put it back a week ago, its not so much the mineral block is whats attracting them because they have a trail right in front of where the camera is. I dont hunt over the block its just there for pictures. I wasnt seeing any deer before i put it there. I hadnt seen any deer since i killed my BB in early oct. However i did see some saturday but before they got to me a german shepard ran them off

Hey Cougs, that first pic has a 6:16 time stamp. That is really close to shooting light. Get out there early and he might just slip up. That is if you want to shoot that one.
