Snacking

So I felt a little hungry this afternoon and took out some vension stew. Man is this tender. Came out of a little button.

Stewed it for about three hours. Lots of carrots and Yukon gold potatos with red onions. A nice light gravy over brown rice.

Not too shabby!

Sounds really good. Now I'm hungry. Thanks. [:@]

I just had my fist batch of chili from my little 5 pointer last night. Yum yum.
Also cut up some deer steaks and shish-ka-bobbed them for some of my wife's friends over the weekend. All but one liked the meat, and several had lots of questions about why hunting is necessary, why people do it, how it is done, how much meat you get from a deer, and lots of other stuff too.

I had loads of fun feeding their bellies and brains.:DI'll talk all night. Almost did. ;)
One of them asked how many deer are in Illinois. I told them I didn't know, but you should have seen their faces when I said that the 2005 gun season alone took over 114,000. One of them thought the whole state's deer population was maybe several thousand head. It never hurts to talk it up, or share the meat.

Enjoy that tender meat.
