Gander Mountain
Whats up guys.....I wanted to know would you guys buy a compound bow from Gander Mountain??? I have one not too far from me in New York and I told everyone for christmas to buy me gift cards there for christmas so I can pick a bow out I want. I have a friend that bought a bow there and he said the people there were really nice and knew what they were talking about. What do you guys think????

RE: Gander Mountain
I just bought a Diamond Victory from them a few weeks ago. I love this bow.
I've shot bows for 25 years and never have I had a bow shoot this good. Do a search or check out other threads concerning the Diamonds If you're concerned about Gander Mtn. employees setting it up properly, I had that concern too. They did a great job. Not sure what your stores employees are like, but the ones at my Gander Mtn knew their stuff. |
RE: Gander Mountain
My dad bought his Diamont Triumph at Gander Mtn and the guys dida real good job on it. The guys that worked their originally worked for pro shops, so they new what they were doing. Does anyone know when gander will start selling the Black Ice?

The few times that I've been in the Gander Mountain in Denver the guys and gals in there seemed to know their stuff. What kind of bow are you looking to get?

Duh. although funny, lets not get started on the hoyt vs mattews battle PLEASE. everyone already knows hoyts are WAY better.:D;) never had gander mtn even close so dont know. i do know diamonds are good bows, and if they carry duamonds there you should do just fine |
RE: Gander Mountain
If its the Syracuse store I would say buy from there. My buddy works there in the bow shop. They have a great group of guys there.

Yep, obviously you can pick up Diamond there, as well as a Gander-mountain-only line made by BowTech. :)
TeeJay, why am I thinking you were a Ross guy? |
RE: Gander Mountain
I dont know what kind of bow yet...It is my first bow so I dont want anything expensive yet something around 300.00 for my first one. What kind of bows do they sell there? I have only been there once. The one I go to is in Middletown NY...How much can you buy a Diamond setup for???
Thanks Guys. |
RE: Gander Mountain
Im sorry but you arnt going to get much of a set up for under 300$

RE: Gander Mountain
They have marked down to clearance out their 06's right now, so chances are you may be able to find a decent deal on a leftover Diamond. At least they are at my local Gander. |
RE: Gander Mountain
I'm going to give you some different advice. If you want a great bow for around 300 bucks set up you should buy a used bow. Check the classifieds on this forum and archerytalk. There are some great bows for sale especially this time of year.
I just sold a nearly mint condition 3 year old Hoyt Razortec fully set up with sight, rest, arrows, and STS for $350. I'd much rather have a good used Hoyt Bowtech or Matthews than a lower quality brand new bow for the same price. |
RE: Gander Mountain
Yep, they're a great company and have awesome prices!

RE: Gander Mountain
The guys at the Kingston store are fantastic. Honest, dedicated, knowlegable.
I had bought a bow at another store and was having problems - the Gander guys walked me through step by step showing me what the other place had done WRONG. They did not push a tune-up or parts on me, they made it my choice. They also didn't push the priciest things on me, they laid 'em all out. Then the spent AN HOUR with me going over my form and technique, just because they're that good - no charge. Granted, it was a slow day... but they gained a lifelong devotee with that move. Ask for Joe - I think he runs the archery shop. |
RE: Gander Mountain
I purchased a PSE last year from Gander Mountain in WI. After visiting a few stores I actually payed a few bucks more at Gander because of the great helpI received from the staff. They were the only store to actually take time to educate me and let me try all the different bows to aid in my decision. And once I decided on my bow they were great at getting it setup and helping me understand how it works and how to make adjustments in the future as needed.
Definetly recommend Gander! |
