Great Buck!

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
If it is a state record for Kansas, wouldn't that make it a world record? I have been wrong before, but isn't the world record bow kill typical from Kansas from like 1940 or something?

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
Definitely one of the best racks I've ever seen! Please make sure to let us know what the age/green score turns out to be, if you can get that info.

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
That buck was taken on PUBLIC LAND in Kansas. It was shot at the Kirwin Wildlife Refuge in Phillips Co. It is 33 points and will score NT well over 200. I live in the area.

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
That buck is small....we grow em bigger up here in NY.;)
Seriously though, awesome buck! |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
For some reason that rack wants me to get out my tree orniments...:D
What a buck....Congrats to whom ever got him!!!!! |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
A bowhunter from Michigan harvested him. He hunted public land for 6 years, and it's his first time to even let an arrow fly. I knew it was only a matter of time before some of the pics startedgetting around the internet...

management buck here in MI
Not enough mass, LOL Great Great Deer, WOW |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
They don't grow them like that here. What a beauty. Nice to see you back Buster and I followed your trad hunt and enjoyed it. No harvest doesn't mean it wasn't successful. You saw some scorchers.

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW

Unbelievable!!! Next year I'm going to Kansas!

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
kshunterI didn't post the exact WHERE because yep, people will think they can get a tag, drive to KS and shoot a monster.
it don't happen like that I've hunted properties Bill Jordan would pay huge money to hunt for 5 different years in KS now ....... and I've seenone buck that would go B&C Only one I've seen some dandies driving around, but onlythatoneB&C size deer This post isn't designed to increase the non-resident hunting numbers in KS, only to show that wow, that was a huge buck. I'd hazard to say that MI hunter never saw a bigger one and likely hunted long and hard to earn this one. |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
buster - No problem man. I didn't take it in a bad way. Nothing wrong with posting those pics.
I do agree with you through, Kansas does produce some really big bucks every year, and that those "truely" big monsters are extremely tough to find... Unlike what T.V. shows. It takes lots ofhunts/hours to come across bucks of B&C caliber, even in the bests ofhunting spots. I talk witha good amountof NR hunters every year, who hunt KS public land, only to go home disappointed, because it wasn't what they expected. |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
What's that in the middle of his head, between the burrs?

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
I'm guessing the buck was fighter and got a tine there
my Dad's big bodied buck from 2 years ago, and he was pushing 300 pounds with a 150" 8 point heavy mainframe, was a brute. His right ear was torn almost 1/2 off, he had gouges in this pedicles and his body was riddled with bruises and gouges, his neck especially. Unreal how beat up that buck was ! |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW

RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
I just bought myself and my wife a one way ticket to Kansas!!!!
|
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
Diesel77 you could do that, but would likely have as good a chance in MO, IA, IN, IL, WI, MI, KY, SD, ND or any number of other states.
Bucks like that aren't magic - they're extremely rare animals that have a combination of luck to get that old, genetics to grow those racks and the local nutrition to glue it all together. |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
Almost big enough to shoot here in Mississippi!LOL
|
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
I'm seriously impressed
|
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
I've hunted Kansas 3 years now and I'll tell you, every year I've seen a B&C buck. Only got 1 of them, but that place is incredible.
I'll never go back to Illinois b/c Kansas is right next to Oklahoma and it's got deer just as big w/o as many hunters. |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
Must have missed the take quality pictures thread @ the TOP!
Awesome Buck anyhow. |
RE: monster Kansas buck - possible state record WOW
Huntingson, that deer will not be scored as a typical. By the way the typ. archery record is Mel Johnson from IL. a long way back.
