homemade attractant
if anyone has a scent tip that they are willing to give up id like to hear it. i hunt a state that doesnt allow any edible attractant to placed by the hunter, and all the products on the market dont seem to do anything but spook the deer. ive actually had some success with this method. get a couple handfulls of cracked corn and grind it into a powder with a kitchen grinder. put the powder into a mason jar and fill the jar with boiling water. stir it occasionally until it cools and settles into three layers. using a turkey baster, suck out the thick middle liquid layer and put it into a small plastic bottle that you can easily take to the woods. the down side is that you must keep the liquid refrigerated and use it a few days after its made or it will sour. ive used it a couple times and had deer walk straight to it thinking that it was actual corn on the ground. any thought or suggestions?
