what states bow season fall on the rut?
 

Here in Missouri, rifle season falls on the rut and bow season closes. ITS NO FAIR! I can never take on a big buck with my bow. Last year during the rut (rifle season) I shot a nice 15 point that scored 160+ (pic on my website). He was so into a doe, he didn't even glance at me. During bow season, the bucks are more alert towards people. What states fall on the rut during bow season?

In my part of Alabama, bow season goes from Oct 14 - Jan 31 this season. Gun season is also open from Nov 18 - Jan 31.

This year in IL our bowhunting season goes until this Thursday (Nov 16th) then shuts down for Fri/Sat/Sun slug season, then picks up again next week so we have ample time for bowhunting the rut.

And fortunate guys like me who have a spot in one of the 5 bow-only counties around Chicago never have to stop hunting. :D

Here in Oklahoma archery season is Oct. 1st to Dec. 31st with the antlerless season extending through Jan. 15th.

What's even better here in Oklahoma, you can kill 2 archery bucks, but if you wanted you could bowhunt during the rifle or muzzleloader season and fill one of those tags with the bow. 3 bucks total for the year, though.

Michigans rut is during bow season, and I believe it is winding up for the start of gun season, which is today by the way. Our bow season is is from October 1st till November 15. Actually you can still bow hunt during gun season if you want. You just have to wear orange is all.

here in Arkansas the bow season is open from Oct 1st to Feb 28th. You can bow hunt during the gun season you just have to follow the gun laws. And there are different gun seasons for different WMA. so i you play it right you can bow hunt all year and never have to worry about a gun season.

I'm in Missouri and I always bowhunt during riffle season (and the rut). I love it because I hunt bow only areas and they are deserted during riffle season. Missed a nice 8 pointer yesterday!

Season starts on Sept 30 and runs through Feb 4.
