where was this buck killed did you see any of his tracks i am curious as to what they looke dlike in the field

That is what they call "foundered" it happens in cattle too.

Ugly aint it?

I got these pictures from my cousin, he lives in SW Oklahoma. I am not sure if it was his deer a friends etc. I emailed asking him directly where the deer came from and will post once I find out. We had a donkey that this happened to, it looked VERY uncomfortable when he was standing.

interesting. I seen this a lot on foundered cows and horses. But you think deer would keep them trimmed up from all the rocks and such. Looks like he foundered and maybe lived in the plains where there are not many rocks. I dunno....but it really does look like founder....too much grain?

I saw this about a month ago; obviously a pen raised animal that was in too small of a pen and did not get enough exercise so as to where it's hooves down naturally like a normal deer IMO.
