lyme disease

who else here has it? i was diagnosed 2 months back. lemme tell you, you don't want it!

felt like a coupla goons worked me over with baseball bats, then the antibiotics made me feel WORSE for about a week.

i'm pretty good now, but still have bad days.

incidentally, this was the first year i didnt treat my clothes with premrethin, and look what happens....

I was bitten by a tick 2 days ago. I did not develop the red bulls eye that is supposedly related to a lyme infested tick. did you have the red ring after being bitten? I hate ticks

I got it back in the late summer of 2001, my dog has had it twice since we moved into this house.......it was two months of hell before I was diagnosed...and I just got it from a tick I picked up working in the yard.

Don't know much about lyme disease, however I did get Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tickwhen I was five. Talk about a real immune system reset.

according to my doctor, you dont HAVE to have the bullseye to have lyme.

mine wasnt a bullseye, but an oblong rash about 12x6 on my back. i thought i had scratched myself at work, and it was infected.

before i was diagnosed, i felt like i had the flu. then i woke up at 5 am to pee and couldnt move my legs! i thought i had a stroke, i was scared to death. went to the doctors that morning , she took one look at me and yep , you got lyme..

she has treated over 100 cases THIS YEAR ALONE here in southern albany county... and it's a REAL small practice.

but , since i treated my clothes with premethrin, the ticks have been staying off. before that, i wouls have 10-15 on me if i walked through the brush.... nasty little bastards:D

We had bought some land around Branson, Mo. When we were down there one time walking through it I came back to Illinois. I was taking my shoe off and noticed a little tick on my sock. Never reling thought about it because it wasn't stuck in my skin. A few days later I noticed a big bullseye rash on my anckle. Didn't really think about it being a tick bite. Till I went to the doctor, she just treated me for lymes not sure if I really had it. Can they do a check anytime for lymes. I wouldn't mind going back and just have them check again?Find out whereall the aches and pains are coming from....Oh thats right, I am getting older:eek:

I was diagnosed in the summer of 1993...at the ripe age of 13 it was the worst experience of life. To those who had/have it imagine trying to get those antibiotics into a kid. I was miserable for a month.
I picked up my tick during a hike through Giant City in Illinois...the little bastard was in the fold behind my ear.
